This year’s garden is a new kind of challenge. Last year we had access to a great backyard with plenty of space for the garden. We built raised beds from reclaimed brick, and we had a great harvest. This year we’re building raised beds from wood for a balcony garden now that we live on the 2nd floor and don’t have the same yard access. I started the seeds today, hoping that in about a month or so they’ll be ready to go in the ground well after Buffalo’s projected last frost of the season (mid-May).

This year in the garden:
Peas, scallions, spinach, zucchini, summer squash, bell peppers, Roma tomatoes, watermelon, lavender, cilantro, dill, and rosemary.
